My name is Melissa Patnella and I am a physical therapist who has accepted the opportunity to travel with the organization Operation Walk to Ghana on November 10-19, 2022. On this trip, the medical team (6 orthopedic surgeons, 5 anesthesiologists, 10 nurses, 3 PTs, and other support staff) will be doing hip and knee replacements for the people of Koforidua, Ghana.
I am so excited to have the opportunity to use my medical skills to make real change in peoples’ lives, especially in a part of the world where this level of medical care is not as accessible.
I am asking for donations for this trip, as I am using my vacation time from work as well as paying for travel and other trip related costs (vaccinations, etc). Any donations collected beyond the cost of my individual trip will go to the Operation Walk fund for our group as a whole for more medical supplies and donations for their community.
